Pupukea area just over an hour away from Honolulu. It is home to some of the greatest snorkeling and diving on Oahu. Amazing and diverse sea life can be seen here due to it being a protected reserve. Some divers have been known to use frozen peas to attract schools of fish. The cove is surrounded by jagged volcanic rock, so sandals or water shoes are recommended. Winter months are not recommended for diving due to large waves. Shark’s Cove itself doesn’t have a sandy beach upon entering; however, located just adjacent to the cove is Three Tables Beach.
Furthermore, Waimea Bay is just down the road not even a mile. In addition to the great diving and close by beaches there is, across the street, a few local grills, shops, and a Foodland Grocer with a Starbucks. So you can easily have a full fun filled day in the Pupukea area.
WHAT TO RENT: Hawaii Beach Time mainly delivers Snorkel sets to Shark’s Cove, but also many chairs, umbrellas, and coolers to Three Tables and Waimea Bay which are in close proximity. Hawaii Beach Time is Oahu’s premier snorkel rental company, and as such we want to make sure you have the best time while visiting Sharks Cove, please don’t be afraid to call or email us with any questions.
